About me

Hi –

My name is Lisa Jorgensen, and I have spent many years in the Lake Chapala area of Mexico as an expat.

I came from the US to retire, but I found that there was so little written about the area for expats that I wrote a book about it called Moving to Mexico’s Lake Chapala. It’s available at Amazon here in its 4th edition. As laws kept changing, I needed a way to update the information, and to keep other expats aware of all the local news, too. So, I started a website called LakeChapalaReporter.com, which I still edit and publish.

I then realized that expats in Puerto Vallarta had the same needs, so I started the website PuertoVallartaReporter.com, which I also still run.

You see where this is going, right? Hence, MexPat Reporter.com.

This is a place for me to share what I’ve learned and what I continue to learn every day in order to help you navigate your own life and adventures here, too.

As an investigative reporter, I’ve learned a great deal about the culture, the real estate and rental markets, the government, travel tips, technology, healthcare insurance, safety, and many other topics you probably have questions about, whether you’re already here or are considering making the move.

It’s my priviledge to give back to the expats and this wonderful country that have brought me so much pleasure.

This website is designed to be your trusted companion and resource, offering not only practical advice, but also stories of inspiration, motivation, and shared experiences.

Enjoy!
